Upcoming field trip - Unfortunately, we had to cancel our planned trip to Pima Community College's production of "The Trumpet of the Swan" due to scheduling conflicts. We will instead be taking a trip to Flandrau Planetarium on the University of Arizona campus on Thursday, October 17. More details will be forthcoming!

Spelling - Those students in my reading group will begin taking spelling pretests on Tuesdays. Those students who score 100% on the pretest, will not have to take the test on Friday. They will still be required to do the spelling homework for the week, however. Also, we will begin defining our spelling words in class beginning Monday. There will be a bonus word each week, and if a student scores 100% on the test AND gets the bonus word correct, they will receive extra credit.

Fingerprint Clearance – As of this year, it will be required for all volunteers to have their fingerprints rolled in the front office before going on field trips. This is a new policy from administration and it takes up to 10 business days for you to be cleared. The cost is $22 and you can pay in the front office. If you plan on going on a field trip with us this year, please have this done as soon as possible.
